Arsenal is back on track, after a disappointing defeat against Fulham last weekend.
Hull City 0-5 Wigan Athletic
Wigan picked up their first win of the season in a 5-0 thrashing of Hull City at the KC Stadium. Wigan went into the half-time break with a two-goal advantage courtesy of an own goal from Sam Ricketts (5') and another from Antonio Valencia (13'). After the break they scored three more goals, two from Amr Zaki (63' and 81') and the other from Emile Heskey.
Everton 0-3 Portsmouth
Jermaine Defoe scored twice as Portsmouth cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Everton. Defoe netted Portsmouth's first goal in the twelfth minute, then provided the assist for Glen Johnson to double their lead five minutes before half-time. Defoe sealed the victory for Portsmouth in the 69th minute with a superb finish.
Bolton Wanderers 0 - 0 West Bromwich Albion
Although the match ended in a goalless draw, it was action packed, with both teams creating several opportunities to break the deadlock, particularly towards the end of the match. Do-Heon Kim hit the bar late on, and that was the closest each of the two sides came to winning the three points.
Middlesbrough 2 - 1 Stoke City
Middlesbrough edged Stoke City 2-1 with a winner from Tuncay Sanli five minutes from full-time. Brazilian striker Alfonso Alves put the home team ahead in the 37th minute, but a Justin Hoyte effort in the 71st minute drew both teams level, before Tuncay's late winner.
West Ham United 4 - 1 Blackburn Rovers
West Ham United thrashed Blackburn Rovers 4-1 in a match that they dominated from the start to the finish at Upton Park. Goals from Calum Davenport (12'), an own goal from Chris Samba (20'), and others from Craig Bellamy (90') and Carlton Cole (90') gave West Ham a well deserved win. Jason Roberts scored Blackburn's only goal of the match and also failed to convert a penalty.
